The first thing I did to my 07 street glide was to put on one of those advance auto 1 foot rubber antennas. I got tired of kicking the long stock one real fast. I do lose radio signals quicker, but I mostly listen to CD's anyway. So, no big loss.

I just switched over to the J&M shorty, $45, and pick up stations much farthur away than with the stock whip.

I took the antenna off my '06 street glide, cut it to 31", and put it back on. I can't tell the difference. Electronics books tell you that 31" is the optimum length for reception. I would love it to be shorter, but I also bought one of those one footers from the auto parts store, and rode about 20 miles with it. Does anybody need a good one foot antenna?

I put the JMs on, but then went back to the whip. The shorty seemed to loose signal quicker. I will probably play with it a little more, next year. I do listen to CDs alot, but CDs only last so long.
