I love my sporty, but the ribbing from the "big bike" riders is getting old. I know I'm faster than most of them and I can do a lot more to/with my sporty. So whats the deal with the "cute little bike ya got there"?!

Preacher is an unknown quantity at this point
It's small penis syndrome.

Any "biker" worth riding with knows the history of HD and doesn't think that the latest boutique bike is always best. It's the johnny come lately riders with thier store-bought custom bolt-on trailer queens who do the talking.

In my opinion that nobody gives a rat's butt about..
If you own a Harley? You have the greatest bike ever made in over 100 years. Period.
Harley makes very many different bikes for very many different bikes for different riders.
I chose a Sportster in 1973 and I chose a Sportster again in 2003 and I don't think I will see another one in 2033. I love what I have and I could care less what the other person thinks or likes, they did NOT buy MY bike..
You have bought your Harley for a reason and thats it..
Jim

I agree with Preacher,If your riding with people who put your Sporty down you need to find more experienced riders to ride with.I have never heard anybody say anything about my scoot being a girls bike.Maybe I'm running with the right bikers.

The last time someone said my chopper which is an old ironhead was a girls bike. He just about lost his pink slip. I was a nice guy and didnt want to take his bike so I took cash instead lol.

I have used many ironheads in rigid frames over the years. All were very light weight and went like scared cats!

ignorance of a good machine, is the only reason that comes to mind, as to why anyone would put down on a sporty.. some ride them because they are more affordable & face it, not everyone can fork over the price of a big twin.. next, some ride them as their bike of choice, & why not, they are great machines.. while still yet you have the new rider who uses them as a stepping stone to learn to ride on, as they are lighter & easy to ride..often in this group , alot end up loving them & staying with sporty's.. whatever the reason, they deserve no ridicule.. they are just as good a bike as a big twin..
