Any other KNife Makers or Blacksmiths out here?

Any other KNife makers in this forum. I am into neo tribal bladesmithing. I look for salvage metals that are siutable and am working on a billet that I handforged out of a timing chain from my Dads 305 chev motor. I have a few years supply of used motorcycle chains. I dont use oring chains anymore. For all the money I have throwen into them motorcycles over the years it is time they can send me back something in the monetary department.

Right On. I sure dont fault a fellow for wanting to make a Viking sword. Are you planning on hardening it or is it primarely going to be a wall hanger? I have made a couple of fantasy style swords from mild steel but lets face it, they will never see any kinda action. so hardening and tempering were not an issue

Very impressive swords. He said he is using 1075 steel. That sounds like the right chioce for a battle ready sword. I dont know much about Japanese knives and swords but I know that tyhje folks who are into them are hard to impress.

The guy across the street from me has a forge. I would use his stuff. He is in the SCA, and into that stuff.
