I've made knives starting back in about 1968. I haven't made many the last few years, but I am beginning to feel more like it again. I like RTS Steel (rear truck spring) when forged. I don't do plain stock removal or stainless. I have made wootz, and have pattern-welded a good deal. It is fun and different to produce your own steel. The hobby is good, and can even pay off.

Cool stuff, NuViking! It doesn't look like you are after the cookie cutter approach!

Thankyou. I dig scandies and scagels and am also a fan of the lod west and mountain men or in this area,,,Plainsmen. I am sure you will see a bit os scagle and scandi in most primative knives I make.
Neo tribal is working for me. I have abunch of blades being sanded right now and am doing some finishing touchs on a plainsman style fighter, and a couple of scandies. I am also experimenting with scrimsawing. No that is not a typing error. I dont have steady enough hands to scratch thin lines with small pionty things so a broken hacksaw is embellishing my knives.
