Seat help
Stock seat is killing me. Any suggestions? I've got a HD 1200C.

Do what I did take the cover off and cut the stock to fit your body, then take it to a shop to have it custom re-covered.
Check out the pics of my redone sundowner seat in the New life for my sundowner thread.

Corban, I'm on my second one, very comfortable but I have only sat on Mustangs, never rode long distance with one. The Corbins have a very distinctive look and feel. Plus if you have height problems they try to tailor the seat to you. Let them know your height and they adjust the padding.

Saddle choice
Seats like so many things are a personal choice. I have the original, a Corbin and now a Mustang on my FXLR. You can certainly do better than the stock seat. I Love the look of the Corbin but my back appreciates the Mustang. Either are great choices. I have looked at the La Pera as well. Whatever fits you is the best!!!

I have 3:
1)The HD pillow look touring seat-Comfortable to about 200-300 miles because of plastic pan, kinda bulky looking. 2)Mustang super touring-Super comfortable for as long as you want. I have gone up to 500 miles in one day and when I got off i could have gone another couple of hundred. Very bulky and wide, does not look the best on a skinny sportster, but again the thing is damn comfortable. 3)Mustang fastback-Around town bar hopper, not to good over 200 or so. The best looks wise. Really jives with the lines of the sporty. |
