Maggie Valley
I'll be leaving home on the 16th for a ride down to Maggie Valley, N.C., and I'm looking for input on routes. I want to cross the border at Port Huron, and I'll probably ride I75 part of the way, but I would like some suggestions on secondary highways I could use, so me and the missus can enjoy some sights along the way. I don't plan on getting to Maggie Valley until the 18th, so I have some time for some sightseeing. Any input is appreciated.
Also, if I'm gonna be near any of y'all, let me know and you can buy me lunch!

Snuffy recommended 25 to me from White pines, TN to Marshall, NC via Hot Springs, NC.
Cherohala Skyway between Tellico plains, TN and Robbinsville, NC is a gorgeous road. US 129 Tail of the Dragon runs out of Robbinsville as well. It's fun. Not scenic because your too busy planning your route to do anything else. Any road down there is pretty good, Stoney. You could enter near Rochester of Buffalo and take the Blue ridge parkway down from Virginia into Maggie Valley. That's also a nice ride.

To take the parkway you'd take 90 to 79 to 77 and get on it near Wytheville, VA. It's a full day on the parkway from Wytheville to Maggie Valley. It's peaceful and scenic.
It get's twisty and ya better really pay attention South of Asheville. Even more so south of Maggie Valley.

I don't think ya can pick a bad road down there. Depending on how ya feel ya could stay on 81 a little longer and take 25 across the mountains. I never rode it but Snuffy likes it and I'd sure as hell trust him.
That really looks like a nice trip.

Stoney highway 70 north across Tennesee is one of the best rides, great friendly people and full of Mom and Pop eatery's anywhere with southern home style cookin "gra-on-teed" to fill ya up and put on pounds. Might even ride a hundred or so miles with ya

ok I'm comin... may sleep in a ditch , think ironwoods in, and gamma queen said cvome up to her mountian house.. anyone else wanna ride down for the weekend?
