Slaying the Dragon & the Blue Ridge Parkway
14 riders converged on Robbinsville N.C. and had a blast. To say I was challenged by the Dragon was an understatement. I have been riding since I was 15 but I think I might have been the slowest one there. You think I'm experienced but you son realize how intimidating it is.I think my slight vertigo had something to do with it. It's something about taking a sharp curve next to a 100' drop tends to slow me down.
I really am amazed at those who ride it aggressivly. I'm sure Killboy.com had no trouble getting me on the Dragon as slow as I hit some of those turns. If you go there I highly recommend staying at the Phillips Motel, the owner Reba was the nicest lady and the rooms and courtyard were really relaxing after a day of riding. At a great rate too.  For the rest of the pics... Dragon '07 pics On the way home the plan waas to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway. I started at Ashville and rode to the Virginia state line. Thunder and dark clouds dictated that I haul ass to the interstate so I could beat the rain and get home before dark. The parkway was incredible, light traffic, great views & nice twisties (not as drastic as the Dragon).  For the other BRP pics... Blue Ridge Parkway
