| Need a helmet Planning a trip to Alaska this June. I have a 1/2 helmet, but I am thinking I may want to be a good helmet. I am thinking something light and vented?? 1/2 or 3/4. Not sure if I would do shield. Could be some cool days. 40-80 degree temps. I got a bad feeling the good ones are going to be more expensive then my head. You got a $50 head, you buy a $50 helmet.

| Will it derate it, if I cut a hole in the top? But will it still maintain the DOC rating?

| HJC helmets are pretty nice, DOT approved, and not too bad pricewise. I've got one of the higher end models of their half helmet, and it was UNDER $200. I think Terry, Darlene, and the King and Queen all got HJC 3/4 helmets last year and like them pretty well.

| Face shield Face Shield FACE SHIELD fuck being a tuff biker its bugs galore up there by the billions. Face Shield and at least a 3/4 if not full brain bucket. misquetoes that will crawl up the crack of your ass and bite you on the tail bone. Now thats one hell of a place to try and scratch especially on a bike
