Motorcycle Cannonball

In September 80 people attempted to ride pre-1915 motorcycles from Kitty Hawk, North Carolina to Santa Monica, Cal. Several folks made it all the way.

This should make us feel guilty.

My buddy Bean're was on this run. He wasn't riding a pre 1915 bike though. He was just there for support and to party with them.

He said one chick from Germany was riding a 1907 bike that didn't have a clutch. She had to push start it ever single time she stopped. Thats a lot of push starting.

Most bikes averaged around 35 mph but some of the 1915 bikes with an actual transmission could get to 50 - 55 mph.

I would have loved to have ridden on this.

They were in Arkansas on a weekend. I intended to go see them. Unfortunately earning a living got in the way.

There was an interesting article in American Iron and on the web by Buzz Kanter about having a removable gel pad sewn in his 1915 Harley seat.
