SPAM - Yahoo acct
Hey all,
I have an OLD Yahoo -account that I do not use any more, I have yahoo messenger but that is rarely used either, Some home my yahoo account got hacked and is sending out emails to people. It happened about 2-3 months ago and I changed my password and they stopped, it's happened again, I deleted all my contacts on that account (or at least I think I did). Is there any way to delete the entire yahoo account? I heard if you don't use it for so long it deletes on its own, I do not think this is true cuz I went probably over a year with any log in at all from messenger or email and the accounts are still there. Any Ideas on what I can do?

After time I think they delete all the emails and freeze it. I would delete all the emails, if haven't. I think you should be able to contact yahoo and tell them you want the account deactivated.

Many years ago, I had a similar problem with an email account (not a Yahoo, Gmail, MSN etc). I was actually getting "in trouble" because of the spam. The email domain ended-up in a spammer database and my legit emails were being rejected.
I would suggest just letting those you know that you used that account with that the account was hacked. Now days, spam is common, no one even blinks. Best of Luck,
