Dumping Hughes
I cancelled DISH today, and I'm putting up an antenna and will watch whatever locals I can receive. Tired of shopping channels, mexican channels and cartoons.

Also gonna drop my satellite ISP. It's raising the price again to $90 a month, and I'm not gonna pay it. I have ATT phone service out here, no DSL. So I go back to dial-up...probably use BasicISP ($9.95/mth).

Anyone here using dial-up...any problems I should know of?????

Have not used dial up in years. The forum is optimized for users that have it though. It will load fairly quickly.

I have wildblue satellite internet, about $50. When I had dial up I used an accelerator. The pics would be grainy unless you clicked on them. Wasn't so bad for forums.

Thanks Zerk...we have WildBlue here, but they're qouting much higher prices. I checked the BasicISP website and they have a package with accelerator for $12.95/month...looks like I'll go with that.
