| I let the primary and tranny go longer too. Figuring its just an oil bath, and having the demands the engine does, or as critical. Sometimes I'll change it just cause the oil pan is there. Sometimes not. I don't think I've tried 15k though. But I don't think I'd be afraid to. One winter I removed the primary, leacing the derby on, and adjusting clutch with it outer off. Next time I went to adjust clutch, I ended up stripping a bolt in the derby. For some reason my derby was prone to stuck bolts,3. Since then I've started putting antiseize on and no problem. The longer you go between interval, it may be a good idea. |

| Compared to the cost of repairs changing oil in all three holes is always much cheaper. For example. I got my dirt bike in 2003. From the day It came home I change the oil every 30 day's. Even if I road it or not. My two other buddies that purchased bikes that same day have already rebuilt there engines. Of course in a dirt bike you only need one quart of oil, I just fell that changing the oil is a good thing compared to the cost to rebuild. |

| I should change the oil in my ATV more, small engine that is sitting alot, not getting run hard, probably builds up condensation. Same thing with my lawn tractor. That doesn't get alot of use either. I'll drop the tranny and primary, cause I am there. But if I don't have the oil, I am not afraid to let those two slide. What I should do is, change it before storage. I've been bad about that. |

One quart - that's interesting. Not a lot of oil for a high performance motor. Water cooled I'm guessing. | |
