Pickin my baby boys first car up today

We're going to my mom's 4 hour drive each way to get a project car my step dad never did anything with. Gave him $20 for it at Christmas time. Supposedly just about everything is there to finish the restoration. My 15 year old is pretty excited about working on it. It's a 91 Mercury Capri convertible. I'll post some pics after we get it home today.



Can't decide weather to fix it up or just get it running for him.

Thats a tough one. Ide say fix it and sell it and look for something more...bigger,safer,reliable.
Only things ive heard of those capris were all bad.
If your stuck on a small convertable ide say look for a older miata.

Hell last summer he hit a tree and power pole while on a bicycle

Couldn't beat the price on this though. Should be able to have cash profit if we sell it to get something like you said bigger with more protection.

Thats probably the best for a beginner, small pickup like a ranger or s10.

Kid rides into trees and poles on a bike. last thing he needs is to run into them faster. seriously at that age it would be easy to get into big trouble with that kind of car.

It doesnt matter what kind of car thay have, if thay gona wreak it thay gona wreak it. I know I look at things different, but I aint gona make my choises based on "what could happen if". Shit my son had his first dirt bike when he was 7. He dont even know how to ride a bicycle, but he gives that TTR 50 hell!!!
