New Aussie.
Well here goes, my first time on any forum of any type at age 42. I am an Australian male, I ride a Bonneville America with a 904 kit,lowered 2' front and rear, drag bars and a little fly screen. She pumps out around 70hp on a dyno and handles pretty sweet.
I'm a farm boy from way back and have grown up on motorcycles and just love to ride, dirt or road, I'm not fussy. I live in the Burdekin Delta region in Nth Queensland. I work in the mining industry on a week on/ week off basis, we fly out from Townsville and work 1000klms away in the arid desert interior of far western Queensland. we live in modern camp facilities with all the mod cons for a week and then we fly out for our week off. Pretty sweet really. The time off is great for riding motorcycles. we travel nth to the Cairns/ Atherton Tablelands region (Gods own country built for biking) or we can ride south to the Whitsunday/Airle beach region (a holiday, tourist area) or out west to the Charters Towers Goldfields region (red earth and semi arid). In Australia ,distances can be pretty vast, it's a 100 klms to anywhere so you need a bike that can sit on 140 klm/hr all day and you need decent fuel range as well. My little bonne does it all well, she keeps the Harleys honest. I'll get some more pictures up soon. I'm currently on night shift and in the middle of my 7 day swing. I have a stack more pics at home that I will put up soon.I'm hoping to get up to the Greenvale area the R/R, it's an old nickle mining town with a pretty neat little pub called the Three Rivers Hotel, made famous here in Oz by an old country and western singer Slim Dusty (Australian Icon) .
