I was looking for a WG when I ran across this one. Couldn't pass it up for the price. That's a story for another time though. It had a worn out keihn on it and folks talked me into getting an S&S for it. Honestly think it was well worth the cash. Thought about doing a CV conversion as that is what I had done to the `83 Sportster that I had before this one. Had to sell her to pay bills when I lost my job of over 6 years. (Sigh) ANYWAY the CV was a great and easy conversion on the sportster and it never ran better.

BTW, was there a question behind your question? ;-)

Thanks again for the kind words. It was a toss up between changing to a used CV or getting a S&S. I never realized that used CV's had gone up in price so much! Figured that after getting the adapter, going through the carb, it was just as easy to go with the new S&S.
I got lucky when I did the CV on the sportster. Guy I worked with had a clean carb off a 1200 sportster - $45, Guy on e-bay sells NICE milled CV adapters - $35(?). Got a guy at work to do the press fit, carb into the adapter - $0. Now even at the local Indy shop, CV's are going for close to $100, e-bay even worse, then the adapter, etc. I got into a new S&S for just under $300.
