Greetings from Canada,I found this site after typing in "twin cam issues"in google.With prices on older HDs coming down to where I can actually consider getting into one I am interested in finding out as much as I can,what to watch out for,foresee-able maintenance and reliability issues and such.So I won't really be much help to anybody,but I'm happy to pick up the bar tab when someone helps me out.

Welcome.
Prices coming down, is good thing, IMO. I see more younger people riding. Certain years have slightly better things. But it does come down to a good deal, and finding the one you want. I think there are decent prices on early 2000s and older. Find one and post up the details.

Welcome from another trucker and long time biker.
I'd go for a Twincam if you can get a deal but there's nothing wrong with a good run'n Evo either,I've done many miles on both. It gets down to certain years as far as any issues may go with either one but likely most have had whatever fix may have been needed if any before you get it unless it's super low miles having been not ridden. Best bet is to post up here if you find a bike you're interested in and let us know what year and model it is and what if any mods it's had done. That way we can reply on that specific bike. Welcome to BHO from the tri-city area of Middle Tennessee, Defeated Creek, Difficult and Hoggtown. Ever consider a 1200 sportster 2000 and up. Really decent prices on used Sporties and most times can find one with really low mileage. The sportster with the Evo engines are very reliable, it really boils down to what floats your boat with HD.
