Windex

For finishing off at the end of a clean up I always use Windex and paper towels. Anything else you use on chrome will dull it. The stuff they call chrome polish is really wax. Waxing will protect your chrome from the elements but it does leave the wax behind and a you have to use a toothbrush to remove the dried residue. If your chrome is scratched and you want to attempt to fix it that's a different story. The cleanest and shiniest your chrome can be is to have it as clean and streak free as possible.......Windex and paper towels is my choice

Sorry Am disagree..........

Windex is abrasive, could leave a fine marks,
I never use Windex on any plastic (like windshields or paint or any other parts of a bike)
its good for glass (jes my opinion)
theres several good products on the market
"Eagle One" chrome polish is good, (for show chrome)
"harley glaze" is awesome on chrome and paint too
those two I use

windex

Windex is not abrasive, it's alchohol and amonia. It works on chrome the same as it works on glass. With a clean towel it leaves no streaks.

And if you think about it? ammonia is a corrosive..
I won't put it on my bike, anywhere.
Its made for glass.

I agree with you guys about the windex, it will leave scratches and so will the papertowel. A smooth lint free clothe works best for me. I had just asked the question to see what types of polish different folks use.

Ok the best thing I have ever used (and I've tried a bunch) is DuraGloss Aluminum and Metal polish from Napa Auto Parts. It is a cottony cloth with the polish impregnated in the cloth. You tear of a little bit (a little goes a long way) and polish out the stains, small scratches, etc. then come behind it and wipe off the residue which is very easy, (I prefer to use toilet tissue) it does not dry like a wax or other polishes. If you have never used it, give it a try you will be impressed.
It will not scratch your chrome.
