Austin students ride motorcycles for good grades > Conroe Courier > News Archives > Houston Community Newspapers Online - News Around Town
They may not be the image portrayed in Steppenwolf’s “Born to be Wild,” but they are exactly what their teachers and parents are striving for. Nearly 300 Austin Elementary first- through fourth-graders climbed aboard motorcycles Friday for the annual Excel to Ride, sponsored by the Cut-N-Shoot Harley Owners Group.

I sometimes think life would be easier if that reputation persisted.
Two of my favorite conversations though were with old guys that recounted their WWII experiences on motorcycles. One was an Aussie that rode Triumphs in the pacific. I met him in a Lowes parking lot near here one day while shopping. The other was a farmer that rode for the US in europe that I met in a McDonalds parking lot in Kewanee, IL on the way home to see family. Both conversations took about a half hour.

And yes there is a Cut-N-Shoot Texas, its a real town east of Conroe Texas been through it several times
