| Shag's days numbered? Well, I know times are tuff, hasn't been easy for me either.. So I think i'm gonna have to give up my girl.. she's been good to me, have no complaints or regrets at all..... What I have to decide is weather or not, I want to trade her in, or try in this dry market and sell.. should I take all the expensive goodies off, and put the stock stuff back on? I am realistic about what I have in my bike and realistic about what I should get for her... Are the dealers dealing? or trying to steal your trade from ya? oh yeah.. Can you say "Road King Classic" or "Street Glide"?

| Wether to strip the stuff off is a good question. You don't get alot for it. Myself when I bought my FLHR, I bought it cause it had alot of chrome, but not theme. Themes, skulls, Harley, ect can be very personnel. I'd probably strip that stuff off. Derby would fit on new bike. If you were getting another FX I would strip what would fit. It probably comes down to how much time you want to spend. Its a nice looking bike, I like the blacked out primary with black tank.

| That sux Rob. It it were me and I was going to trade it in, I would take the goodies off. Because the dealer dont give two shits about your chrome. They only care about chrome when they are the ones that put it on there. If I were going to try to sell it outright, I would take it all off and put the goodies on ebay. Atleast on ebay you might be able to get most of your money back out of it. But give the buyer of the bike first shot at the chrome stuff.

| My first Harley was my FLHR, I started building it into a dresser. Lowers, tourpak, oil pressure gauge. Then got a bought the Ultra. My Ultra sees alot more action, but its colder up here. The leather bags on the FLHRC are very personnel, some people like them cause they are leather, I think they are to straight line. As Glides, I would look at a Classic, and put at detach kit on it. The tour paks are $1k. I never take mine off my FLHR. Its just so damn handy. Its to bad they got rid of the FLHT, though you can still get them used. I am curious about the FLTRs they say they handle better with the frame mounted fairing. Something I'd think about if I didn't want a tourpak. But again its a look some like and some don't.

| Why get rid of it? Just add another bike to your collection.

| It's a buyer's market. How much do you want to come out ahead? If ya take the stuff off and sell the parts you'll do best. It's obviously a lot more work. If ya trade it in you'll do worst. Ya still have stock parts to sell on e-bay though. That's the easiest way. I'd talk to the dealer and see what the difference in trade in price is and look on e-bay to see what the difference in part prices are before making the decision.

| If you are going to trade it in put everything stock back on it. You'll get more for it. I still think you can get more for it even with this shitty market. The weather is turning nice. Get a flyer up, put it on craigslist and see what kind of offers you get. June and July are the best times to buy a new bike from Harley because the 2011's will be coming out. But again with this shitty economy your better off finding someone on craigslist or from one of these boards that has a used Street Glide or Road King for sale. I've seen 1 and 2 year old Street Glides on craigslist for $14K.
