| Well, we just bought Ruth's FLSTC. They didn't negotiate a nickel, but it was because we were taking advantage of the Sporty trade in deal HD offered. Sales guy said dealers have lots of Sportys available and prices are down. I know my dealer has a brand new Sporty exactly like Ruth had. And they had to give me list price as trade. So I can't say as I blame them for not dealing. The flip side is, bikes aren't selling like dealers want them to. However, all dealers are different. Some will never deal. Others make a living wheeling & dealing. Check around. If one won't, try another one, they may. Best way for maximizing the deal for you is strip add on parts and sell them and sell the bike outright. When you walk into the dealer with cash and no trade they have to worry about recovering their money on, they will be more likely to negotiate. I've had an FLHX. It was a great bike. The reason I went to Ultra was that Ruth was riding with me at the time. Longer rear shock travel, tour pac, lowers, etc. all made the Ultra better for us. Now that I'm riding solo, I'd consider going back to an FLHX. One thing would happen for sure if I did, I'd replace the short shock with standard length. There is a significant ride advantage with the standard length shock. I can't speak to the FLHR. Many conversations with 'Zerk about his leads me to believe you lose something with the windshield vs. fairing. However, I suspect losing the 40 of 50 lbs. of weight on the fork makes it more nimble in low speed parking lot maneuvers. Me, I love the fairing. Best wishes on your endeavor.  |

| The fairing cuts back on alot of wind. Also protects your hands. Dan did you pull the saddlebags off?

| No, we're thinking we're riding it to Hortonville and having them do the work right there. Oh, you meant the Sporty bags. No, I left those on. I wasn't going to touch those turn signals again. We pulled off the windshield and Sundowner seat planning to sell those. |

| Ya I was talking the XL, I remember the experience you had with it. If there giving your MSRP might as well pull the easy stuff off. I sold a seat from my Magna with in hours on ebay.

| They had to get rid of the FLHT, cause they were afraid FLHX owners would hear Willie laughing at them. It looks good without a light bar, but the light bar shines alot of light. No engine guard will cost you some money too. Cosmetics are for chicks.

| The FLHT and Dyna Wide Glide were the two best deals harley had going. Mebbe that's why they got rid of them. Hopefully the FLHT will return like the Wide Glide. Probably with a too large of a price increase.
