Motorcycle Gang Shooting in Cookeville Tn
And no it was not the Possum Players......This time...
 Man shot in bar parking lot Mary Jo Denton Herald-Citizen Staff Monday, Dec 07, 2009 PUTNAM COUNTY -- A man was shot and injured in the parking lot of a bar Saturday night, and detectives were still working to solve the case this morning. It happened about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Road Haus bar on Miller Road, just west of Cookeville. Robert Ferguson, who was working security at the bar, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg in the incident, says a report by Putnam Sheriff's Deputy Jeremy Nash. Deputy Nash said he, Sgt. Joe Nash, and Deputy Mike Hicks were dispatched to the scene after someone there called 911 and reported there had been a shooting. Witnesses told the deputies that they had seen security officer Ferguson in "an altercation" in the parking lot with several subjects known as a "motorcycle gang called the Renegades" and that the altercation "had become heated." A man pulled out a small handgun and fired it "an unknown number of times" and one shot struck Ferguson in the leg, the witnesses said. The so-called "gang members" then got into two vehicles, a white Dodge pickup and a dark colored Chevrolet Blazer, and drove away, firing several more shots back toward the bar as they left, the witnesses said. A description of the suspects and the vehicles was put out over police radio, but as of this morning, no arrests had been made, according to Sheriff's Detective Doug Burgess. Ferguson was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Detective Red Golden came to the scene and took photographs, collected evidence, and interviewed the witnesses.
