Anyone get out and ride last weekend?
Our band of miscreants had a great weekend for riding. We got lucky. No rain on our parade...unless ya include those unlucky ones who got wet on the way home. Weather in the 70's and 80's, blue sky and great friends. A super weekend.
What about y'all? |

No riding for me Dan. I had a union meeting to attend. That meeting ate most my saturday. Sunday I watch football most of the day. After watching GB I should have gone riding. There is alway's next week.

I was out Saturday on the shovel for about 100 miles, and the wife and I went on a 200 mile tour Sunday..... a little cool, but a great ride.

I'm going to plan B for sending you a cheese curd care package, Serg. The cheese factory will send them directly to you for me. But they don't start until October because the weather isn't cool enough before then. I don't want it to go bad, so you will get treats early next month. Sorry for the delay. |

I'm starting to see a color change now. Another couple weeks and it will be in the prime. Sounds like a good excuse for a weekend excursion to me.

The colors should be real good up here in a couple of weeks, and there's some great scenic riding up here....google "beaver valley" for some pics. The wife and I tour that area every fall. There are other areas as well.

That looks real nice, Dave. I really got to get up there. I intend to work on that whole passport thing this winter so if your ride comes to fruition next year, I'll be ready.

Had two great rides this weekend. One was a poker run from the HD stealership. I don't really like poker runs but my son talked me into it cause it was a benefit for the Ocean Cty Animal Shelter and a lot of people I know were there. It actually was a lot of fun, I felt like a winner getting a pair of aces but of course that wasn't good enough for anything and took me out of the running for the worst hand.
Sunday I did the Ride For Freedom put on by Rolling Thunder Chapter 2. A few of my old riding buddies from the 60's met me there, we did the ride on closed roads (it's like a big 30 mile long parade of motorcycles that last for two hours with thousands of bikes), saw the ceremony at the Veitnam Vetrans Memorial in Holmdel, NJ and then my group of about 30 people came to my house for beer and burgers. It was a great weekend. Mutt |
