Police special what?
They make PS models from 883 Sportys to Electraglides.
Assuming it's an FL of some type, price sounds about right for one that old even though it's low miles.
24K on a Police bike is more like 50K on a civi if it was used in police work, all town miles most of the time.
Still an RK or EG for under $9K is a lot of bike for the money.

i never actually seen a PS edition sporty , but i guess it's all possible,
if you are buying this from an individual, sounds like a good deal, even if it was a workin ride it's still a good deal, Larger depts. did keep up tghe maint. but the rider usage is like dean (Y2K) said. but that is about the fair trade market value around here.. Snuffy if you go big twin, it will all be over.. My Bob has almost 17,000 on it now. if that makes a difference

Washington DC police have some Sporty Police models...Hard saddlebags and a hard trunk too. They use them in the president's protection detail. They also use Honda Rebel 250's for patrol around the Whitehouse areas.

$8500 is the price most of the Road KIng P models are going for in this area although most I have seen coming from the police departments have low (under 8000) miles on them. Cause HD has some kind of lease deal that includes maintanence most have been well cared for.

If you want to ride the bike basicly as is they are they are a very good deal. If you are thinking towards civilianizing it, that can become very expensive and you would probably be better off looking for a civilian model to begin with.

Just my $.02 worth.
