For the geezer who's about to rock...
Called my son Aaron this morning, wanting to borrow his truck. As he brought it over, I was in the garage, just having cranked the radio out there, and playing a little air guitar to the Rush tune "Working Man". Aaron is 25, and a helluva guitarist, and no stranger to classic rock, but Rush' first album was new to him.
Well, we shot some shit about some of the great shows we'd seen in the past, that sort of thing. I told him I'd never seen Rush, and that I'd regretted it. Well, Aaron and his GF Liz came by tonight. I was told to close my eyes... Liz placed a ticket in my hand. Damned if Rush ain't out on tour... will be in Indy on June 25, two days before my BD! They'd been planning this for a month or so... they couldn't keep it a secret!  Woo Hoo!

You'll have a great time. They put on a good show; I've seen them play once at SARSfest and met Neil once at a neighbour's place (they were friends).
And yes, Lakeside Park is real; the merry-go-round, the lighthouse, the fireworks on the May Two-Four weekend (which is this weekend, coincidentally enough) all exist. Port Dalhousie - great party town in the summer!

Good Deal Big D.... that'll be a blast.
Was askin my BIL if he wanted to come down for this year's gathering..... said he couldn't make it cause he was takin his kid to the Rush show in Chicago that weekend. BTW D, you should ....take yourself a friend....makes ya feel so good......so good good good good!

Yeah, Ed, going with a whole crowd of Aaron's friends. Ought to be a hoot.
June is shaping up to be a hoot. Just found out that my new favorite band Lez Zeppelin is coming back to Indy on the 13th, the day after they play the Boneroo Festival. Four of us going to check out that one!  These gals kick serious ass. Would not miss a chance to catch the lezzies. This is a must see for any Zep fan... check out my old thread on this. Their studio CD is excellent. I'm gettin' Sarah's autograph, or get beat up tryin'!  Woo Hoo!

Dude! Rush is my favorite band too. They were the very first concert I went to, way back in '78. Wouldn't mind seeing Lez Leppelin now.
