What are you doing for Thanksgiving?
I'm heading over to my mom & dads as I do every year. Bring a side dish and dessert over.. Spinach Phyllo Squash Pie (from scrach)
What are you doing? and Do you bring anything speacial to eat? Edit:... DO you do the traditional turkey or do you make something different. We some times do a ham.

This'll be the 2nd year wife and I host it all. For years, we had to rush here and there, so as to not tick anybody off. Now Beth's parents are no longer able to throw the bash, we're doing it.
Now it's our kids' turn to rush here and there...!   Grub? Standard stuff. Although I have a large smoker out back, I'm too chicken to try to do a big bird on it. It'll be going, tho. I do baked beans in it... to die for! (think I put a recipe on this in the cooking thread) It'll be a good time...

I'll probably do the whole traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner. Small group of friends and family. Nothing too wild. I cook Thanksgiving and my dad does Christmas. I'm hoping that the holidays will be drama free this year.

We do things our own way at our house. We still have the traditional turkey (hopefully fried this year) but that's where it ends. We also have everybodys favorites with the turkey. For instance, one year my youngest son wanted scrambled eggs, so that's what he got. Another year it was just peanut butter and jelly. Or if someone wanted spaghetti, that's what they get. The menu is all over the place but everyone gets to have their favorite meal that day, along with the "normal" side dishes. This all follows up on a big breakfast and TONS of whore-derves all day.
(No, I don't know how to spell that.)

Let's see...
Wake up around noon... If the weather's decent go for a ride around town... take a nap.... Stuff my face with my Mom's turkey with all the trimmings... pass out watching football... wake up for round 2 of the turkey w/trimmings... relax from all the excitement and fall asleep.

 Burn a can of Progresso Soup and mebbe treat myself to some Breyers Vanilla Ice cream...  Prolly rent a couple of movies...  Check out some Internet Porn after midnite when the sites Refresh their content...  Hit the sack about 1am...

phor Thanksgiving we get together with my in-laws, it's OK I like them, and we celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas all in the same weekend. We call it Thankmas.
Every year we rent a cabin somewhere in the mountains on neutral territory so everyone has to travel, and no one has to be put out by a house phull of people. Sister in-law is bringing all the booze & beverages. Mother in-law is bringing the dry goods, chips & crackers, what have you. We're bringing the perishables since we're the closest. Party all night Wednesday, everyone cooks Thanksgiving diner, party all night Thursday, celebrate Christmas, party all night phriday.
