Beware of paypal

For those of you that use paypal. Beware they like to freeze accounts for no reason. They froze mine because someone else opened an account in my name and were using it for fraudult activtys like thats my fault. I called them and was on hold for over an hour. I dont think anything will be done on paypals side. I have read many horrer storys about them tonight. I did make a police report for I.D theft so we will see where that goes.

Not too long ago, I sold something on ebay and the buyer was a scammer and sent a request that looked like it was from paypal for me to send the item first, then the money would be put in my paypal account after I shipped the item. That didn't sound right so I emailed that to paypal and they informed me they didn't work like that and it was a scam. I had to change all my paypal account info. What a nightmare.

I've had frequent emails from someone using paypal's info and logo. Most state they have encountered a problem and ask to use a link to update credit info etc. I noticed if I put the cursor over the link, it actually shows the link as being totally different from anything to do with paypal. i can see where several people can unknowingly get scammed by those using tracking software.:BewareSpam:

Change your passwords often and dream up some wild passwords. Check you "My Ebay" or wharever its called. If its a genuine ebay message it will be in there.

correct, use caution & beware of fake emails..i've noticed too that if you are paying for a non-ebay related transaction, they wont let you do instant transfer, but in fact force e-checks or credit cards as the only form of payment offered.. i dont care for that at all..
