The repair estimate for Mjr. Tom
My bike made it back to NC yesterday (It's about time). The repair estimate came in at $13,000.00. Still waiting on Gary's estimate.

I don't know what they are going to do yet. I'll most likely get screwed somehow. The insurance company transported the bikes to the repair facility of our choice. The dealership that I had mine sent to just called to tell me the estimated cost to repair my bike. I have not shared the news with the insurance company yet.

We are fine. Someone ran over both our bikes on day two of our vacation. We were riding to Key West, FL (the same trip we started on four years ago when I broke my shifting foot in Cedar Key). The plan was to ride from NC to Jacksonville for the first night. Spend two nights in Fort Myers Beach, two nights in Key West, the end up in Daytona for the final three nights (whick was bike week). We got to Jacksonville fine. The next day it started raining on us in Daytona. We pulled on the shoulder of I-95 to put our rain gear on. I got off the bike and got my rain gear out. The next thing I knew Gary was screaming for me to move I stepped back and SMASH!!!! This 85 year old man ran over both our bikes, missing us by inches. Needless to say our vacation sucked, but at least we lived to tell about it. Our bikes just made it back to North Carolina Yesterday. Gary has not gotten his estimate back yet.

I had a bike rear ended so hard it, flattened the rim. It was less then a year old, they repaired it, just fine. Pay attention, but I wouldn't overly worry. They do this al the time, its there job.
I get nervous pulling over on highways and interstates.

That sucks Gamma. Glad you guys are OK. Maybe you're not destined to ride to Key West. I hope you really do get to ride there tho. Start thinking positive about the insurance. You could get a nice surprise.

I've totaled the same bike twice. Road it after I totaled it the 2nd time, without any repairs.
If they do total it they will tell you the amount, you could buy it for. You have to look into your states salvage titles, and be prepared to sell it for less. But you got it for less too. What can really work out is using the money to costumize the bikes, or leave some stuff broke and keep the cash. You could do a costume paint job, or keep the money and ride around with scratched plastic. Numbers from my bowels, if they total, 15k check to you, you buy it back for 5k, you have 10k to do with as you please. Gary could fix them up and you could have costumized bikes, as opposed off the floor bikes. Of course this requires work on your part, and hassle, nothing is free. Or you get them fixed and just ride them. Winter is coming. Probably take a month or two to get fixed.
