Good Folks
Just wanted to say that I'm glad that Suzie talked me into coming over to BHO. Though, many of you I've known for 4-5-or even 6 years, through the internet, I've come to make many of you good friends. And with each passing day, I meet through words more of you whom I'd like to refer to as friends. My lament is that I've not been able to meet y'all personally.
Y'all know, you live in cities and communities where y'all can interface daily with one another. I go into town once every three weeks to pickup feed and groceries. Other than that, I talk to cows, horses and dogs. I have Robbie, but we only see each other a couple times a month for lunch. We talk daily, but a phone call doesn't replace human contact. Once in a Blue Moon, a neighbor stops by. Most often, contact is a wave as they drive up the county road. Guess I'm just feeling lonely tonight; sorry to take up yer time and be a pita..

Not much any of us can do for you in regards to human contact. But one thing you can count on here is smart ass remarks, wise cracks and good old fashioned bullshit.
Keep your chin up man. Maybe head into town just for the hell of it. Go into a bar for a soda if you don't drink. Shit who cares don't drink anything. Just engage in some conversation. Just thought I would throw an idea out there. Good luck man. |

There's a honky tonk, about 45 miles from me. Been there a few times with Robbie. I have a bit of a reputation. I learned to box at a very young age, and my father was the township drunk. So getting into fights became common place. And the ability to fight sort of follows a man throughtout life, no matter where he tries to put down roots. There's always a young buck out to prove himself. So going into town to have a drink or engage in converstion doesn't always result in a conforting and quiet evening. I wished it did, as I enjoy dancing and watching folks have a good time at the honky tonk. I shared a lot on a couple forums, as did a number of men like me. Way too much I guess. Except for one or two, none of us are any longer on those forums. Maybe we're not forum people but simply who we are; old relics of the past.

No one's an old relic unless they choose to be. It takes some doin' to swallow your pride and refuse to fight but it can be done.
Even Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin and Indiana have tons of wide open spaces when ya get out of the major metropolitan areas. Still full of young bucks looking to make a name.

Oh, I've swallowed pride and walked away from many a fight. Some have suggested that much of the commotion comes about because of the I way I dress up to go honky tonkin'...............

I've always wanted to go to Texas. Maybe we should have a BHO run down your way. I'm sure you have room for us to throw up a few tents.
I've always thought about moving to a very rural area. I've even looked at buying property deep into the nothing of Alaska. I've always been kind of a loner and am fine by myself but I've never been more than 2 or 3 weeks without someone so not sure how I would really do in isolation.

Well, there are parts of New York that can get pretty lonely. I live in a rural area. Hate cities. Have been to Montana and Wyoming. Lots and lots of open land. Really felt the Old West the most in Meeteetse, Wyoming. Dar, sweetie, the only member I've met is Phantom. Do love your honky tonking outfit
