I ride a sporty with a windshield it makes long rides more comfortable, and I dont think it looks bad i also added the passing lamps and ridgid leather bags so Im going for a "Road King" look

Road king look huh? Pretty cool, makes a guy wonder, just how much 3" of wheel base, and a bit of motor makes a difference. Oh yea, and $10K.

You can look cool, or you can do what ever it takes to put more miles on. I will bet as a rule of thumb, guys with windsheilds, put more miles on then guys without.

I have a quick-disconnect for my Sporty. I rarely use it but when I do, it's a completely different bike. I like the ride but hate the look. That's why I got the quick-disconnect so I could take it off when I got to where I was traveling. Also, does this classify as a windshield? Riding this makes it hard to go back to my Sporty. As I explain to my wife, my Sportster feels like you're doing 100 when you're doing 50 and my FZ1 feels like you're doing 50 when you're doing 100.

Alto, your mostly right. I just like to sit at the feet of experience to know what to expect from my paths taken. Not that I am likely to change my paths, just nice to know where the trees are. :)

Nods.....not one to follow much. Especially blind trends. I figure, I cut my teeth, grew up and became a man on a ironhead sporty, did what was not supose to be done on one then, lived, so why not now. In the middle, spend about 10 years on a FLT, rode the hell out of it, and had to hang it up. So now, given the second chance, I figured A) I like to ride, B) I dont like to spend $20K to "fit in" and C) the world has far too many FLwhatevers already. Anyway, I like blue. :D
