Bad news, good news, bad news
Well, I had a little adventure today. My work day was over, and I headed out to the parking lot to the bike. It was sunny and 70 degrees out..... what a great day for April! I fired up the scoot, and headed over to my little brother's house to drop some stuff off. I left there and headed for home. I pulled up to the intersection to make a left turn. The light was red, and I had 2 cars in front of me. The light turned green, and both cars accelerated and started turning... and so did I. Suddenly, they stopped dead. Shit!! So, do I hit the one in front of me, or lay the scoot down? I chose to lay her down, hoping to minimize any damage. I slid to a stop and the asshole in front of me looks in his mirror....... and drives away! Another motorist stopped to see if I was alright, and helped me get the scoot back up on her wheels, and I rode her home.
The bad news is that I had to lay her down.  The good news is that the only damage to the scoot was a small tear in the soft chaps on the front crash bars, and a small scrape (hard to see) on the rear crash guard.  The bad news is that I have a hairline fracture in my fukkin' ankle....... Doc sez 4 - 6 weeks before it heals, and I have to go see a specialist Friday to make sure all looks good. I figger I'll be riding in a week.

Sorry about the ankle. Tell them it was a spot of dirt on the lens, your ankle's fine.

My computer won't open pics, just keeps thinking.
I hope the ankle works out. Physically therapy helps alot, alot. You may lose some muscle, atrophy sets in quickly. My legs looks like pretty bad, done to the bone, just about. Foot Problems - HealthBoards Message Boards Link is for forum, where you may be able to read up or ask questions. Hopefully you won't need it. Any questions, or such I can help with let me know.

Once I started walking, I wore a compression sock, for about a year, for swelling. But talk to the doctor first, swelling is good for healing.
My foot, likes to have a drink. Listen to your body.

Few years back I went to lace up boots, if you wear slip ons, might want to go with lace up for riding for a bit.

Sorry to hear about your misadventure, Dave, but I'm glad it's only what it is. You'll recover and nobody but you will know about the ding on your ride.
