Ness Big Sucker or Screamin Eagle?
Tax return time is coming and I am getting ready to choose a new intake for my Street Glide. On my Softail, I started with a Screamin Eagle Stage I kit, it performed okay, but I changed it for a Kuryakyn Pro R Hypercharger. I liked the look, but really didn't get the performance I thought I would. Besides, it liked to vent oil blowby outside the filter and down on the engine.
My question is, has anyone used the Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage I? I am reading good things about it, but I don't want hype. If anyone has had good luck with something else, I'm listening. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a SE Heavy Breather on my 1200 Sporty and it has integral breathers, been on about a year now and now blowby.

I had the S/E air filter kit and now run a Big Sucker. Performance between the two is very similar with the Big Sucker getting the edge. For looks the Big sucker cant be beat with that old hotrod look clean and basic also no one else sells that quality at that price. I still dont get why some charge 250+ for what Ness sells around 120.00

Crash,
You stated "but really didn't get the performance I thought I would". I'm wondering what kind of performance change you expect from this? I would think it would be minimal at best. Mutt |

I wasn't expecting a lot, and actually seemed (never got around to a real test to confirm) to lose a little.

Ness Big sucker is awesome, easy to install and cheaper. I think the SE and Ness would probably be very close in the performance department. With the QA issues Harley has had in the past with the SE I personally wouldn't even consider it an option.
One thing I loved about the Ness Big sucker was that it has very simple easy to read instructions and was simple to install. Its the first motorcycle part I've ever purchased that had decent instructions. Most parts come with instructions written by a Chinese retard that doesn't know english. |
