motorcyle camping

Just a thought, many travel with bikes, cross country trips, or out of state. and with prices of motel rooms, meals, gas ect... it becomes very expensive very quick. perhaps people who are traveling could post their destination and if others have room for weary riders to post camp for a night, or have info on places to pitch a tent that would be....cool?

Thats why I posted a note on the Southwest *Help* forum... anyone traveling thru the area in need of assistance...whether it be Mechanically or Comfort can drop me note.
Hell not just Motels or Hotels.. but friggin Camp grounds have gotten crazy too!
What I dont understand is if they can accomodate Pets with a Shit Section, why cant they set aside an Overnite Section for travellers at the Rest Areas???? Just enough space to pitch a tent or throw a bag on the gorund is all Im talking about.

That ain't no lie, I went on a circle trip around Lake Michigan and one night paid $37 to camp in a state forsest campground, I just about shit. I loved living out west with the abundance of BLM and national forest land. Pick a spot and go to sleep...free! That doesn't happen too much East of the Mississippi.

Ive seen $75 at a KOA just to pitch a tent..!! Thats one of the things about Wash St. that I miss.. Hell, pick a side road... pull off about 20 yards set up a camp and no ones the wiser.

I was thinking of a way to organize somthing like that. perhaps those who would or could post their zip code and when someone else was mapping a trip and got a zip code match they could contact the host and set up a time they would be coming through. it would take some doing but the savings would be huge. its called hospitality...nothing new really, just thinking of a better way to organize it. any thoughts?

I'm not really sure of a great way to organize it, but just posting is a start a simple, "hey mind if I crash at your place?" does the trick. It's usually a good plan to know something about the folks though (Ted Bundy fans need not apply).
