Exhaust Coatings

I found this on the internet and was wandering if anyone has actually used this stuff on your exhaust. If so how well does it work?????

I have heard that a lot of exhaust coatings do not expand and contract at the same rate as the metal pipes which leads to cracking and flaking off. Time will tell.

Yea..Ditto...
Im been curious about the long term effects of these coatings.
One thing I cant wrap my mind around is,
They always say things like: *Reduces Underhood temps* etc etc ... But what Im wondering is that the heat has to go somewhere , so wouldnt logic dictate that the Heat is Staying in the engine, instead of dissapating, thereby actually increasing overall Engine Temperatures???
Just curious....

I see what your saying WaB, But the coating keeps the heat inside the pipes thus increasing the flow of gases and heat out the end of the pipe. No more heat in the engine as is scavenges the heat and gases out more effectively.
Or so thay say.

So in essence... For lack of a better description:
The Coatings, by keeping the Pipes *cooler*, act as a type of Heat Sink and draw the heat away from the engine/combustion chambers.... similiar to using a heat sink when soldering electrical connectors??
