Your Harley won’t turn over?

Upon pushing the electric start button there is no response at all or a series of rapid fire clicks coming from the battery? Don’t jump to conclusions. Try the easiest and cheapest fixes first and gradually go up the scale to the expensive and complicated.

Do not go out and buy a battery without first checking the most likely cause which is the ground. Yep, nine times out of ten the ground strap will be loose or will be corroded preventing proper flow of those tiny invisible electrons that make it all happen. Clean thoroughly and tighten both ends. Oh yeah! Electricity won’t flow through a painted surface so the ground must attach to bare metal.

next of course, will be check the battery for water level if applicable... (gel Cells never mind) Maintenence free does not exactally mean that... at least check it and add as ness , when you change your oil.. Clean connections, full of fluid..Good to Go...
also, never add electrolite (acid) to old batteries.. And please take proper percautions when workin around your battery..
1. they produce hydrogen gas while charging = BOOM
2. they contain acid = chemical burns
3. they contain an electrical current = boom , shock, flash etc..
