I can't believe there's a discussion of cleaning weapons.
My Daddy taught me to clean my weapons at age 9. It's simple and straight forward. Why do y'all make something so simple so complex. 'Cause yer all a*******! You'll figure it out! There was a country song which talked about a country boy surviving..............y'all ain't gonna survive!

I remember coming home from a weeks duck hunting when I was a kid. Time to clean the Model 12 pumps. Took them over to the gas pumps at the farm, opened the action, ran gas into it, cycled the action a few times, wiped it down with a rag, good to go.

Just 'cause yer born and raised in the country (I presuming UP means country) doesn't mean you know country and how to survive.
Canadajack's got it down. When our 14s were replaced with 16s, 1st Sgt had us take'm to showers with us, wash 'em down, then break'em down, wipe and oil, and go staright to the field. My daddy made me break down and clean after every hunt. If it took longer than 15 mins, my ass was grass. No fancy fucking room........back porch, rag, wire and oil.

Its a kitchen table in my basement. I put up a shelf to store like minded items. Just trying to organize stuff.
I have cleaned guns before, but like most things I am like to improve and learn. I am not asking your advice, just making conversation. Either way, on my rifles, I have never pulled them off the stock, probably don't need to. But I am going to.

Going to get a bore guide for my rifles. Not that I am a good enough shot or they are that accurate. Just cause I feel like it.
Been using dish soap for the black powder, but I may try a black powder cleaning product. See if it is any better or just marketing.

It takes me about 4 times as long to clean a gun as it did when I was a kid. I'm not sure whether I'm more thorough or just slower.

First time using the brass punches bent two of them. Removing the trigger on Remington 700. Grace is supposed to have a good warranty. Suppose I will just leave them in the tool box, and just mention them when I refer to my gunsmithing tools.
700 was my Grandpa's. 37 years old. If you email Remington the serial #, they will tell you the age. I doubt its ever been off the stock. Probably would have been good for another 37 years, but I felt like it.
