I used the M-16 in Vietnam, it is just a little bit bigger than a 22 round, .22 versus .223. I used to use a 22 to hunt woodchucks here in upstate NY. Now I also humped the M-60 which uses a 7.62 round. Now the gooks would just keep on coming if they were hopped up on opium when useing the M-16, had to hit them a couple of times, and usually they were almost on top of you when hit with the last killing round. But if useing the M-60 when they were hit they went down and stayed down ,even if they were high. That is one reason they singled out the MG to wipe them out, the other was fire power. I remember when we were in a rubber tree plantation they were lining up to die and I had burned up one barrel accommodating their wishes.Had to keep pouring the LSA over the barrel to keep her running.So yeah, the military should go back to the 7.62 round.

In Panama the m-16 A-2 killed them spicks dead, even the hoped up on drugs fuckers. I didnt have a problem one out of the rifle but the spicks sure did, one shot one kill. The only problem is the small bullet didnt like to punch threw medium to heavy cover, but the m-60 just loved to bust on threw and kill them fuckers.

Is the larger caliber fatigueing? The I suppose tired is better then dead.

No I meant is firing a large caliber gun, harder on a guy. I wouldn't want to fire my 30-06 for a hour.

Aaaah...I understand.
308/7.62x51mm, is a bit softer shooting than a 30.06. And with enough range time, you get used to it.
