Defective Safety on Remingtons
Never point a gun at something you don't want to shoot. This is a good reminder.
Lawsuits against Remmington, which claims there bolt action 700 will fire on its own. I had heard from someone it was when the safety was taken off. I didn't read this article to close, just googled it to have a link. I have a 700, my Grandfathers. Its my current hunting gun. 30-06. I have heard about this law suit and from other articles I have read is the saftys on the defective rifles were modified and there for out of the realm of Remingtons control.

Comes down to practicing gun safety. With or without a safety, never point a fire arm at anyone or anything you don't want dead.
