C.) Selective Enforcement Selective enforcement activities utilize enforcement campaigns to reduce risky behavior that leads to crashes and fatalities, and to improve safety. These activities may include:

Target high-speed corridors with officers on motorcycles or concentrated speed enforcement

Set up safety check zones specifically for motorcycles to verify proper eye protection and motorcycle equipment requirements as well as encourage use of protective equipment (helmets, boots, jackets, etc.)

Target areas with high incidences of motorcyclist DUI

Conduct random checks for proper licensing, registration and insurance

Patrol plan must be pre-approved by DTS

States got laws that differ from each state to state. So if Joe Blow is coming down the road on his scoot, wearing flip flops, speeding, no shirt, no helmet [if required] same for eye protection, he shouldn't be stopped.
C'mon Man. If you're breaking your state laws you need to be stopped. If you crash without your helmet and you're a veggie the rest of your life you think the state should take care of you. Be careful how you vote

There is a big difference stopping one individual breaking the law, which could easily be done visually, and stopping only motorcyclists at a roadblock to see if someone is breaking the law. I'm not aware of any studies/proof that improper eye protection was the cause of death to any motorcyclists.

I'm wondering if you can back up your statement that the state takes care of you when you crash without a helmet. Motorcycles count for 1% of the motoring public and the majority of motorcyclists have insurance.
