NJ/PA- pipes
FYI -from Craigslist:
attention fellow bikers NEW HOPE TICKETS attention fellow bikers NEW HOPE TICKETS - $300 (new hope pa) Date: 2009-07-26, 9:43PM EDT Just today i was in new hope with my buddies riding and enjoying some lunch in new hope pa..... when we were leaving our entire pack was pulled over by 2 street cops and best of all the Chief of Police......they were handing out loud pipe tickets at get this 300.00 and you must appear before a judge.... to add insult to injury we were told to stay out of there town and stay in New Jersey.... Last i checked were we in America or Germany in 1942? When i told them that i was going to publish this incident on craigslist his response was that i was doing them a favor... BOYCOTT this bullshit town who harasses bikers. They had harley's, and imports all pulled over so it does not matter what you ride but it matters that you had a new jersey tag on your bike because no PA residents were on the side of the road. Please spread this to your friend and save them the headache and a 300.00 ticket. Be Well and Ride safe SQUID K |

For years I have been telling people to avoid New Hope. They started by ticketing bikes where more then one parked in a parking spot. With parking so hard to find in that town you would think bikers were doing them a favor by parking two or three to a spot. F--k New Hope and tell your freinds and not just the ones that ride bikes. There's better stuff in Lambertville, NJ anyway.

New Hope Update
From ABATE of PA:
10/19/09 New Hope Update Since I began doing Politricks a few years ago I promised you only accurate information. If you read it here, you can take the information to the bank. As you are all aware we have heard a lot of complaints about how bikers were being mistreated in New Hope. While some individuals were ticketed for loud bikes, it was no where near the epidemic proportions that some would have you believe. On Thursday October 15 there was a meeting with members of the Chamber of Commerce of New Hope, the Borough Council of New Hope, members of the Bucks County Conference and Business Bureau and others who are coordinating the 2010 Pennsylvania State HOG Rally which will be held in New Hope. Here are what the minutes from that meeting reflected regarding the noise issue. "The negative press with regard to motorcycles was discussed along with misperceptions. There have only been 39 tickets issued this year for PA State Motor Vehicle violation for mufflers, which is a $79 fine. No citations have been issued for the second offense, a $300 fine requiring court appearance. A few violators aired their malcontent on various blogs and the truth was not communicated. There is a noise ordinance and bikes are checked at an idle and must not exceed 86 decibels. Most aftermarket products are now OEM stamped. People need to be educated and know what the decibels are for their own bikes. The most obnoxious and egregious offenders are the ones being pulled over. This is also enforced for street rods and hot rods. Some of the meeting attendees are looking forward to riding in New Hope because their own perceptions have been changed." One other issue was parking. Street parking must be within the "box". I think that the message from New Hope and other municipalities has been heard loud and clear. I hope that everyone understands the law and will make reasonable efforts to abide by it. Charles Umbenhauer |

Of course, think of how many tickets they can issue that week.
